Josper CE Marabú charcoal: The excellent quality you’d expect from a premium brand.
Thanks to Cuba’s tropical climate and optimal soil conditions, the Marabú has become an invasive plant capable of growing up to 8–10 meters tall. The need to eradicate it made it possible to produce charcoal by burning it. Marabú is a premium charcoal that guarantees consistently high heat output over a long cooking time. Only a small amount of ash is produced after cooking. Marabú charcoal does not spark and burns with a smokeless flame, making it suitable for barbecues and open grills.
Is premium charcoal really more expensive?
Cheaper barbecue charcoal crumbles quickly and needs to be replenished, especially if you’re grilling for a long time at low temperatures. The advantage of premium charcoal is that the harder, denser charcoal burns longer, so you need to replenish it less often, meaning you use less. And when you look at the bottom line, it’s not certain that cheaper barbecue charcoal is actually cheaper.
